Photometric detection in flow analysis systems using integrated PEDDs.

چکیده
A novel inexpensive optical-sensing technique has been developed for colorimetric flow analysis. This sensing system employs two LEDs whereby one is used as the light source and the other as a light detector. The LED used as light detector is reverse biased with a 5-V supply so that the photocurrent generated by the incident light discharges the capacitance. Direct digital output is provided by a simple timer circuit that measures the time taken for this discharge process from 5V (logic 1) to 1.7V (logic 0). This sensing concept has been applied in flow analysis by constructing an optical flow cell with a pair of LEDs. Calibration of the integrated optical flow cell using a dye resulted in a linear response that obeys the Beer-Lambert law. The flow rate, dynamic range, sensitivity and limits of detection were investigated. The system was also used for pH determination in the range of pH 2.5-6.8 using bromocresol green (BCG). The pK(a) of BCG was successfully determined by this technique.

The quality of the road pavement has always been one of the major concerns for governments around the world. Cracks in the asphalt are one of the most common road tensions that generally threaten the safety of roads and highways. In recent years, automated inspection methods such as image and video processing have been considered due to the high cost and error of manual metho...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of the Neural Network, Fuzzy Logic, and Nero-fuzzy Systems in Seismic Reservoir Characterization: An Example from Arab (Surmeh) Reservoir as an Iranian Gas Field, Persian Gulf Basin
Intelligent reservoir characterization using seismic attributes and hydraulic flow units has a vital role in the description of oil and gas traps. The predicted model allows an accurate understanding of the reservoir quality, especially at the un-cored well location. This study was conducted in two major steps. In the first step, the survey compared different intelligent techniques to discover ...
متن کاملIntegrative Cell Formation and Layout Design in Cellular Manufacturing Systems
This paper proposes a new integrative view of manufacturing cell formation and both inter-cell and intra-cell layout problems. Cells formation and their popular bi-directional linear layout are determined simultaneously through a Dynamic Programming algorithm (with the objective of minimizing the inter-cell flow cost under a cell size constraint). This Dynamic Programming algorithm is implement...

A sequential injection system with dual analytical line was developed and applied in the comparison of two different detection systems viz; a conventional spectrophotometer with a commercial flow cell, and a multi-reflective flow cell coupled with a photometric detector under the same experimental conditions. The study was based on the spectrophotometric determination of phosphate using the mol...
